Active Assemblies Through the Year

This assembly book contains a year's worth of thought-provoking and stimulating ideas and activities which are designed to bring assemblies to life in primary schools. Themes are taken from many different cultures and children should soon learn to develop and understand the moral, spiritual, cultural and social grounding of their own traditional background, and those which are different from their own.;Each assembly contains: a clear introduction to the activities and materials to be used, including background information to help teachers with less experience in leading assemblies; a selection of stories, poems and songs designed to encourage pupils' awareness and understanding of religious beliefs and culture in a fun, active and imaginative way; and resources that can be used for both the classroom and the whole school which will give teachers the flexibility to adapt each assembly for a variety of uses, such as class discussion, special events and presentations.
