This study relating the neuroanatomical system to speech and language focuses on speech and language disorders associated with traumatic injuries, lesions, dementia and aphasia. The first section describes the anatomy and some of the diseases of the nervous system, and the book goes on to discuss a range of aphasias, neurological disturbances associated with aphasia, the mechanisms and results of head injury, and methods of identifying lesions. There is also an investigation of the effects of dementia and dysarthria on language and the speech mechanism, with discussion of the various types of each of these disorders.
