The Acid Reign '95? Conference in Gteborg, Sweden, 26-30 June 1995, was the fifth such conference in the series starting in Columbus, Ohio, in 1975 and including Sandefjord, Norway, in 1980, Muskoka, Canada in 1985, and Glasgow, Scotland, in 1990. The scientific response to the Conference was both outstanding and overwhelming, including scientific presentations from all over the world. Approximately 420 of the presentations at the Conference appear in this volume. The papers are divided into twenty different topics, each topic representing an important aspect of the acidification phenomenon. The papers appear in four books, the first containing the plenary talks and the other three the remaining scientific papers.
