These bilingual source documents have been compiled to present the student with documents which they should, in the normal course of events, come into contact with in everyday business practice. Many graduates, however, are seldom exposed to these source documents once they enter the business world and the authors have therefore designed the assignments comprising this work to simulate practical situations in the learning environment. The objective of the authors is to provide documents linked to practically relevant assignments. The first two assignments deal with the accounting process from the books of prime entry to the trial balance, while the balance sheet is dealt with, in full, in the third assignment.
