It is not certain when he died, nor is the place of his burial known. It may be remarked in conclusion that Mr. Filkin little thought as he slowly misspelled his way through the pages of this account book, that he was writing for posterity, and that posterity would not only be grateful for his labors, but would cause him to appear in print, - long after his troubles were over and he had been laid to rest.
