Publisher's Synopsis
According To Our Records is Edward Sennet's first novel. Set in Seattle of 1981 when computers were found in business or govenment and telephones were on a desk, wall or in a booth. We follow Chris, a naive young man, on his own, who left his home town for a brighter future. But he is haunted by a record that he feels has hamstrung his life and limited his oportunities. Finally settling into a downtown hotel apartment house populated by a eclectic collection of misfits he finds some acceptance. Loneliness overcoming his shyness he finds mixed success in searching for love. He awkwardly develops a plan to break through the barries in his life, both personal and as a member of society. Woven into the setting and characters is a portrait of how American society uses information and misinformation and sometimes there is no clear solution. But Chris is determined to not become just another lost soul wandering through society's bureaucracies and streets.
