He coerced her to marry his creditor, Idele from Achala; and a man old enough to be her father. For years, Idele, a widower and domestic violence monger, who was accused of murdering his late wife battered and maimed Adaora at every twist and turn. Unbearable, Adaora fled Achala to her native land, Nkide. But Okeke would have none of that. He compromised some chiefs and elders in the land and caused his kid sister to be thrown out of the community. Adaora felt betrayed and rejected in the worst form. Pushed beyond breaking point and vexed in the spirit, she cursed her people. Days later, Adaora, twenty eight. died. Decades on, no native of Nkide at home or abroad gave birth to a baby girl.
