Publisher's Synopsis
Cynthia's existence has been a constant struggle of battling depression and obesity. The crushing weight of feeling worthless only increases when her husband leaves her for another woman. Having no family or friends to turn to, she looks for a way to escape the emptiness of life.
Anne's hostile and guarded personality has always done its job of keeping others away. Her path in life is not one she would have chosen for herself, but rather one that she was thrown into. She spends her days working as a waitress and her nights drinking alone in her apartment.
Everything changes when both women end up at the same spa. This is the moment they have both been waiting for; a chance to become better.
Until one morning when everything drastically changes. They wake up in a new room, in a place they have never seen before, and their nightmare begins. The door is locked and all extravagancy has vanished. Gone are the marble floors reflecting delicate lights from chandeliers. The fountains spraying their glorious mists into the air have also quietly disappeared.
Suddenly, their dreams of fitting in become trivial. They will have to find the strength they never knew they had to escape the terrors of their new reality. They are being held against their will and must join others to fight back.
Can they let go of their non-existent self-worth and find the courage to survive?
How far are you willing to go to find a better you?
