Publisher's Synopsis

The book describes life in the 1930s on the farm that is now Country Dairy, when the author's parents, Henry and Ellen, worked and lived on the land. Hinie milked the cows by hand and plowed the fields with a handheld plow, walking behind workhorses, Maud and Daize. Ellen washed with a ringer washing machine and hung her clothes out to dry. The book describes the many chores necessary for operating a farm and tending the home and garden in the olden days. The book contains a foreword written by Wendell Van Gunst, son of Henry and Ellen, and owner of Country Dairy.
