Excerpt from A Treatise on the Law of Master and Servant
The preparation of the seventh edition has been made the occasion for a thorough revision of the book. All the old matter has been thoroughly scrutinised and verified, and some which has survived in the work since its earliest days, but which is now obsolete, has been removed. Errors which had crept into succeed ing editions have been corrected. To many of the cases occurring in the text the ratio decidendi has been added, and there has been considerable re - arrangement of matter as between footnotes and text.
But While the book has been much altered for the purpose of the present edition, the general scheme and special characteristics of the work have been carefully preserved.
