Nor would it be fair to conclude that because it does not contain a great number of pages, 'it has cost little trouble to its Author. On th� contrary - for it must be obvio'us'that every Table being positive (leaving nothing to chance, or to have to guess at a real question through various and ficti tious positions) the present systematical and unaltera ble rules must have required considerable time and application before they Could have been found out.

Without however expatiating any longer upon the subject, I shall leave to the Public to decide upon the merits or� demerits Of this little work: and, after giving the Definitions and Notations, proceed to the Examples.
