Publisher's Synopsis
On the coast of Ecuador, U. S. Peace Corps volunteer Shad Spicer seeks out the true meaning of good will and humanity. It was the 1990s-a time before the world was connected by the internet and cell phones. With little experience of the world beyond the Midwest he grew up in, Shad discovers the challenges of living and working in a remote village as he struggles to overcome unforeseen obstacles in order to find and finish a worthy project. Along the way, he encounters the cultural interaction of food and music, the camaraderie of friendships and basketball, and even a little romance.
Will a persistent attitude, the help of his cohorts, and inspiration from an unlikely source be enough to overcome the challenges he faces and help him find a sense of peace?
