My Brethren of the Army Our generalimchief, having in an order, prompted by christian duty and feeling, and highly proper and'becoming in an official point of view, palled upon his brethren in arms, to return both in public and private worship, thanks and gratitude to God, for the signal triumphs, which they have recently achieved for their country-and assembled as we now are thus publicly to acknowledge the favoring Providence of the Lord of Hosts, and to render to His Holy Name, our praise and thanksgiving for the same; which is our reasonable and bounden duty let us my brethren of the army, consider with some attention the nature and greatness of the blessings for which our gratitude is called forth.
