Publisher's Synopsis
I had no idea what I was doing when I started writing this book. Originally, it was just supposed to be a few short stories and how I could relate them to teaching. After a couple of months (and some unexpected encouragement) I realized that what I was writing might have a bigger purpose than just adding to a district blog. So, I kept writing.I've taught for nearly 20 years in all kinds of settings, spent 14 years in the military, and had more adventures growing up than I can count. In this book, I've included a handful of those experiences. Some are funny. Some are sad. And others are probably somewhere in the middle. Hopefully there is something in these pages that might be of use to other teachers... rookies and veterans alike. But don't expect a heavy read. This isn't data driven, full of studies, or research based. It's just a guy trying to have a conversation and trying to make his life useful to others. Finally, if you're not in education... that's all right. Give it a chance, because I honestly think that there's something in this book for anyone who goes to work, deals with stress, or is looking for a little different take on life. Thank you for considering this book and enjoy the read.
