In such a respect it is entirely analogous to the boiling and freezing point of a solution and.to its conductivity and osmotic pressure. The value of these properties in the determination of the molecular Weight, and, in the case of electrolytes, of the dissociation, is too well-known to need amplification. That their value, however, is dependent on the accuracy With which they can be determined 18 also self evident. The boiling - point method is really a dynamic meth cd of measuring vapor pressure. The objection to both the boiling-point and freezing-point methods is that they are subject to appreciable correction factors for the constant errors. The enormous difficulty in measuring osmotic pres sure makes it incapable of general application, While the conductivity method is least accurate in the region of high concentrations, Where the constant errors in measuring vapor pressure_are least.
