Excerpt from A Study of the Semi-Permeable Membranes of Zinc Ferrocyanide and of Copper Cobalticyanide: Dissertation
In-the deposition of the membrane the cell, surrounded by a metallic cylinder which serves as an anode, is placed in a glass vessel. Within the cell is a platinum cylinder which serves as the cathode. The cell is closed by a rubber stopper through which pass an over?ow tube, a funnel which reaches nearly to the bottom of the cell and the wire leading to the cathode. After closing the circuit the appropriate solutions are poured simultaneously into the cell and into the vessel in which the cell is placed.
