Introduction
The term 'employment relations' was conceived as a replacement for the term 'industrial relations' but its precise meaning in today's workplaces needs clarification. Employment relations (ER) are the relationships between employees and employers within organizational settings. The field of ER looks at the relationship between Management and Workers, especially groups of workers represented by a Union. ER are basically the interactions between Management, Employees Unions, and Associations through which such interactions are mediated.
