Publisher's Synopsis
This is a study of the attempt by the People's Republic of China to remove perceived nuclear threat and to maximize its foreign policy interests, the issue of Taiwan in particular. The study is analogized from the playing of the board-game of Chinese Checkers, because the dynamics of the Chinese-U.S.-Soviet interactions at both the strategic and tactical levels can be described, explicated, and interpreted from its rules, principles, and structures (including the game-board itself and overall power capabilities of each player). Thus, for example, power, exchange, and the factor of distance are involved, when and where appropriate.
