Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from A Short History of the Black Watch (Royal Highlanders); 42nd, 73rd, 1725-1907: To Which Is Added an Account of the Second Battalion in the South African War, 1899-1902
The narrative of the services of the 2nd Battalion during the South African War has been compiled, to a great extent, from the full record made by Major Cameron, then Adjutant, but unhappily never printed, and also with the aid of the personal re collections of many of those who served in the war. It is added at the request of many soldiers who were engaged in that campaign who hitherto have been unable to procure any account of the services of the 2ud Battalion in South Africa.
