Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from A Sermon, Preached at Central Falls, R. I., November 26th, 1848: At the Funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth R. Thacher, Wife of Rev. I. C. Thacher, of Mattapoisett, Mass
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints, and just as certainly as the Lord doeth all things well, he will order well the death of his saints, which is so important and precious in his sight. They are not to be given up to their own weakness, or to the power of their great enem y, when most they need the presence of God - when human help is vain, and human wisdom is foolishness, and human strength is weak ness - when the greatest, most eventful and most glorious change, save that of their new-creation by the spirit of God, is passing upon them. Death, as well as life is theirs. Dying as well as living they are the Lord's. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
