I have already stated that it is not my intention to treat of the remaining Deities according to the rank they hold in the Pantheon, or to distinguish between those of the second and third order. The monuments, indeed, afford no proof of this ar rangement; and the number of Genii or inferior Deities suggests that those excluded from the second rank were not all comprehended in the same class Of tertiary Gods.
