A spectrophotometric assay of allethrolone has been proposed by Freeman This consists in measuring the absorbency of the com pound in ethyl alcohol at 231 mu. Analyses of several samples of this pure material show the accuracy of the procedure to be within percent, with a standard deviation of percent for a single determina tion. An average difference of percent between duplicates was obtained in routine analyses of more than 50 allethrolone samples.
