In the Progrefi of this Compilation, a very extraordinary Performance, almryl upon the fame Suhjeel, hut upon dijerent Principles, ap peered, in Puhlic This naturally led the Au thor to look into it, and he foon found that the Bold/eels of the Ajertioizs, and the Importance of the Fah't's flated in that Work, together with an almo/l uni'verfally received Opinion, that the Work it/elf was the Political Creed of the Party, and perhaps jell from the Pen of the Perfon who is the Suhjee't' of the following Sheets, hadgreatly engaged the Attention of the Pahlia. It then he came necefary to intermix his Oh/e'tvations upon that pro/oundpiece which he is of Opinion is the he/l Apology that has heejn or ever will he made for the Conduit of the Party, with the Body of the Work itfilf, and this necefihriliell'd the Work to an undefirablc Size.
