Publisher's Synopsis

This text provides an introduction to the C programming language for those who have some programming experience. The text is divided into short chapters covering the main features of the language. To further aid understanding, the author has provided numerous exercises (with their answers), and a number of projects. These are of varying degrees of difficulty, and range from the construction of a simple number sorting program through to methods for displaying complex satellite images.;ANSI standard C (also adopted by ISO and BSI) is taught throughout, but any significant differences from the original definition are highlighted. Some of the exercises and projects take advantage of hardware features available on IBM machines and their compatible, but this hardware is preferred, rather than mandatory.
