Your Grace will see at once that I am shewing that whilst the credenda. Of the Quicunque in regard to the Trinity and the Incarnation were in their general substance believed, at least privately, in the middle of the fifth century, about two hundred and fifty years elapsed before there is evidence that they were en forced anywhere in the terms with which we are now familiar: two hundred and fifty years - years which abound in information, and of the progress of thought in which we have ample evidence in writers and coun cils of the period.
