It has been suggested that the correctness of the charge in this pamphlet rela ting to the First Consul's attempt to reestablish slavery in St. Domingo is not evidenced, and that the statement is not only not in unison with the commonly received opinion, but that it con?icts with the declaration of the First Consul in regard to the object of the armament which he despatched for St. Domingo under the command of General Leclerc.
