The mathematical and statistical aspects of the model are described in considerable detail in section 4. A nontechnical outline of the new model is given in section 3. Some preliminary discussions of other aspects of force sensor calibration are condensed from the previously referenced papers and given in section 2. The reader would do well to be familiar with those references, especially beforehand.
