Publisher's Synopsis
With an incredibly risqué script, this adult fiction is based on real life events. Sofia and her teenage kids, Amir, Elina and Pari live in a British Muslim locality where people apparently observe a strict version of Islam but secretly enjoy forbidden activities. Sofia's husband has left her for three more wives in Pakistan. She and her friends too have things to hide such as, behind her husband's back, her best friend Zoya visits Pakistan to see her lover. Hating their laxity, their prudish friend Miriam is married to Omar, a flirt who was previously married to Hanna. After discovering that Hanna was the daughter of a Pakistani prostitute, and also had a white boyfriend, Omar's bigoted relatives had forced him to divorce her and marry Miriam but his infatuation with far more sexually appealing Hanna is Miriam's regular heartache.Sofia's friends envy her for having a wealthy secret lover but, actually, she sleeps with an aging millionaire Sheikh who lavishes gifts on her while also funding mosques and extremist preachers. Hassan arrives to stay with Omar and Miriam who want him to marry Miriam's sister Ruby but he and Sofia find each other too attractive to resist. Taking advantage of the community's norms, jealous Omar blackmails them. Outraged to know that Hassan and Sofia had slept together before marriage, Miriam vows to punish them. Sofia takes Hassan home where he faces Amir's wrath.Omar and Miriam arrange Ruby's Islamic marriage, prohibiting intimacy before the wedding. During the honeymoon, enraged to find that the man has a micro-penis condition, Ruby throws him out. Finding Hassan not wealthy enough to fulfil her dreams, Sofia secretly starts seeing Mahdi, believing that he was a millionaire. Hassan is dismayed by Sofia and her kids' lack of interest in work or education as Amir follows an extremist cleric who allows sex with non-Muslim girls on the pretext of converting them to Islam. Elina and Pari, angered by Amir's harsh control, prepare to leave home but Pari's fascination with rough young men becomes Sofia's worst nightmare. Elina's mother-in-law imposes strict Islamic rules on her but her fiancé, Imran, tells her, 'My mum's name, Hoor, is pronounced as whore. As a schoolgirl, she eloped with our dad who was actually our grandma's lover, but then dumped him.' Elina learns that Hoor's second elderly husband too was initially wooed by Hoor's gold-digging mother.
