Publisher's Synopsis
Stress at work not only has adverse effects on employees and organizations but also has severe consequences at national level, the costs of which it can be difficult to assess. This publication describes the development of an economic model to estimate the costs of work stress at national level. The calculations are based on estimates of the prevalence of stressors at the workplace and their effects in terms of excess sickness associated with exposure to these stressors. The appliaction of the model is demonstrated in Sweden and Denmark.
