The purpose of this manual is to help the teacher to use hodge and lee's elementary english, book one, in the most effective way in the classroom. The manual aims to accomplish this purpose in two ways: first, by showing the teacher how to use the material in the textbook to the best advantage; and second, by providing additional mate rial with which the teacher may supplement a lesson in the textbook as best seems to meet the needs of her particular class.
