I feel it incumbent on me to offer some expia nation for my presumption in venturing to print my private notes during a short tour; and also to apologize, if I have been importunate and trouble some in urging my friends to become subscribers to this little volume. Nothing could justify me but the deep interest I take in the welfare and prosperity of Seaham Harbour - a feeling difficult, perhaps, to be understood except by persons who have been similarly situated.
