Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from A History of the Reformed Church in Philadelphia
There seemed to be a special fitness for the attempt in the present instance, in view of the length of time over which the history ran - extending almost half a century into the ante-revolutionary period. The location of this church, within hearing distance of the old bell that rang out the peals of liberty in 1776, and not far distant from the grounds of the great International Exposition of 1876, afforded another significant reason why the work should be undertaken.
