Publisher's Synopsis
Talbot House, Poperinghe, Belgium, was opened as a "home from home" to the British Troops of the Great War - A HAVEN IN HELL. The house was run by two chaplains of the 6th Division and for three years its doors were never closed, offering a cup of tea to each visitor and a bed for as many nights as necessary. Paul Chapman's interest was first sparked when he visited the Poperinghe. He undertook the challenge of deciphering the chaplain's sermon-like writings and researching the day to day running of Talbot House. This is the result, a special glimpse into the life of this unique sanctuary for the war-weary soldier.
