Science plays a crucial role in resolving the mysteries of the universe by means of various technologies prevalent during the present times. The scientists have been working incessantly to unravel the dark truths through intensive research and hard work. Yet there are mysteries which are yet to be resolved by these eminent scientists. If we perceive the same issue from the point of view of the novelist, the result is far more encouraging. Fiction allows the author to depict the world of imagination and present solutions of the mysteries of the universe without concrete evidence. There are writers who have fictionalized the life on the planets like Mars and Moon through their works. Such science fiction writers provide a ray of hope to the world regarding the possibilities of human abode on the planets like Moon and Mars in future. As humanity strived to reach out towards every corner of the universe, more imaginations were sparked, many novels were written on the basis of imagination that provides hope of survival on the mysterious planets. The present research aims to analyze select works of science fiction based on the planet Mars; explore the vicissitudes of life on Mars and estimate the potency of destruction caused by the extensive use of scientific technology.
