A Flying Start! aims to inform, encourage and support teachers who are embarking on primary foreign language teaching - as well as update those already experienced in the field. It presents a rationale for early language learning, outlines key aims and objectives, and suggest themes and approaches to learning at Key Stages 1 and 2. It offers help in planning a scheme of work with attention to progression, both within the primary school and in the transition to secondary.
