Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from A Few Historic Records of the Church in the Diocese of Texas, During the Rebellion: Together With a Correspondence Between the Right Rev. Alexander Gregg and the Rev. Charles Gillette
As to what is here said respecting its essential unity, and the spirit of peace and concord prevailing in the Church, to this day, all must agree. Of the propriety, too, of such con sultation, at this grave juncture in our ecclesiastical as well as civil history, it appears to me no doubt should be entertained; and I heartily concur in the recommendation here made. It will devolve upon this body, if it should agree in this Opinion, to take the action proposed.
