Publisher's Synopsis
Sheriff Pete Handy looked in the store window and felt sick: the townspeople have a Cheyenne brave captive and were killing him. Handy knew it was too late to save the Indian, but he must try to prevent a war breaking out between the settlers and the Indians of the Cheyenne tribes. Handy knew what an impossible spot he was in, a white man with a Cheyenne wife and a son. As he stood alone in a cross-fire of hate and violence he knew he would die if he made one wrong move - and all the rest of the people would follow.
