"Starting in October 1993 and continuing for more than a decade, SNIPPETS was a regular feature in Coil Line, the journal of the Plate Number Coil Collectors Club (PNC3). During its original publication, SNIPPETS chronicled the monthly highlights, developments, and discoveries of Plate Number Coil (PNC) collecting through the words of its author, Alan Thomson. Using a network of PNC collectors, finders, researchers, and dealers, each month Alan would produce a page of news items and observations to inform, educate, or pique the interests of the readers. Each installment would be a page full of small pieces-snippets-of news and information related to PNCs. Although each of the items on the page usually consisted of a brief paragraph, Alan had a knack to provide a wealth of details while balancing general and technical information to meet the needs of PNC collectors from beginners to specialists"--.
