(viz. the Guelferbytanus) which contains the play is a copy of M, made in the 15th cent. It has been held that all later MSS. are descended from M but (1) Septem 195 is found in the late MSS. and is absent in M, and (2) the late MSS. preserve many good readings which are corrupted in M.
