1. To determine the position of a point in fixed space. Assume any point A in fixed space as known and immoveable, and let three fixed planes of indefinite extent, be taken at right angles to one another and passing through A. Then shall their intersections A X', A Y', A Z' pass through A and be at right angles to one another.
