A Case of Mistaken Identity makes argument that our initial self identification is that we are a body, and that this begin in utero, continues through childhood, and endures until death unless we begin to change our mistaken self concept. The reason change of self concept is crucial lies in the fact that bodies are continually needy, prompting selfish egotism and limiting our capacity to love. Freedom from such self imprisonment lies in shifting our identity to that of the spirit of love as our essence.
