Excerpt from A Bill Entitled an Act to Repeal the Act Passed at the January Session 1870, Chapter 364, Relating to the Repeal of the Act of 1867, Chapter 184, Entitled an Act to Repeal Article 71 of the Code of Public General Laws, Entitled "Oysters" And Also to Repeal the Act of 1868, Chapter 406, and to Re-Enact the Same With Amendments
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary land, That the act passed at the January Session of Eighteen Hundred and Seventy, Chapter three hundred and sixty-four, re lating to the repeal of the act of eighteen hundred and sixty seven, chapter one hundred and eighty-four, entitled an Act to repeal Article seventy-one of the Code of Public General Laws of the State of Maryland, entitled Oysters, and that chapter four hundred and six of acts of eighteen hundred and sixty-eight re lating to Oysters be and the same are hereby repealed and the following enacted in lieu thereof.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That no canoe, boat or vessel of any kind or description, whatever, shall be used or employed in tak ing or catching oysters for sale in the waters of this State with scoop, scrape, drag, dredge or any similar instruments, without having first been licensed as herein after provided for.
