It is the night in A.D. 622 when Muhammad fled from his persecutors in Mecca seeking to escape to the city of Yathrib. Muhammad's decision to flee represents his conviction to uphold his religion of Islam, and to fight for his cause. The Night of the Flight is so significant to Muslims that it divides history. Rather than account for years as Before Christ (B.C.) and Anno Domini (A.D.) as do Christians and most of the world, Muslim years are accounted as Anno Hegira or A.H. Wherefore, the fateful year of A.D. 2001 is accounted on the Muslim calendar as A.H. 1379. On the Morning of the Flight of A.D. 9/11/2001, another defining moment occurred in history. Militant Muslims struck America. The Muslim attack was sudden and deadly; killing 2,973 unsuspecting men, women, and children. The Muslim operatives came to steal, and to kill, and to destroy (see John 10:10). The Mourning of the Flight shall be long-felt by the families of the victims. In response, the people of the free world have declared war against the Muslim terrorists and any nation that harbors them. Once again, history has been divided. The cause of freedom is at stake.
