Publisher's Synopsis
Evolvable hardware is an emerging field that applies simulated evolution to the design and adaptation of physical structures, particularly electronic systems. The focus of the year 2001s workshop is on real-world applications of evolvable hardware. A few representative topics include: generalized circuit design using genetic programming, evolved FPGAs for pattern recognition, evolutionary robotics, offline and online evolutionary design of analog and digital circuits, incremental evolution, flow control optimization, and process decomposition strategies.
