On the topic of unemployment, I speak from personally authoritative experience because I was unemployed for more than five years. I experienced all of the feelings of depression, anxiety and suicide that come over you in that dreadful place and condition. So, I can personally empathize with anyone who is currently facing unemployment because I have felt the sting and scourge of unemployment and I know, in a very real and intimate way, what being unemployed feels like.
Consequently, in this book, I have shared some of my very own personal, unemployment challenges in order to encourage the reader who may be facing similar experiences in his or her current unemployment journey. I want to let him or her know that he or she is not alone, that someone truly understands what he or she is going through and that this dry season will indeed pass. Even more importantly, this book also provides you, your loved one, your friend or your colleague with certain hope, through practical solutions, to move out of unemployment and, once again, find gainful employment and fulfillment in life. There are 15 chapters and, at the end of each chapter, I have shared some very practical survival strategies that can be immediately effected in order to move from unemployment to employment. But that isn't all. There is also a bonus Employment Action Plan with 15 Action Step Worksheets to actively help and motivate the unemployed person to strategically plan his or her way into gainful employment.
