[§§ 535-562d; Appendix to §§ 556, 556a: Regulation on Heating Costs Billing Procedure. Tenancy Law 1]
The reform of the tenancy law that came into force on 1st September 2001 brought in many important changes for both landlords and tenants. This affects regulations important in practice such as rent increases and those related to running costs, housing modernisation, time-specific leases and notice periods. In addition the life partnership law, the law for the adaptation of the formalities of private law to modern legal transactions and last but not least the law of obligations reform law have all made significant impacts on the tenancy law. As the first in-depth commentary, Staudinger explains in a highly qualified, comprehensive and practically oriented way, the regulations which are now again fully integrated into the BGB (The German Civil Law Code). Legislation, jurisdiction and literature are fully considered up to January 2003 and in parts even up to February 2003.
